Alfredo Sauce

(about 3 servings)

 
Ingredients & Directions:
 
 
1/2 cup Butter or Margarine
3 Tablespoons Flour
3 heaping Tablespoons of Sour Cream OR Cream Cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
3 teaspoon Garlic Powder (Garlic is a preference, I prefer it!)
1 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Half n Half (my daughter uses evaporated milk, her preference!) or Heavy Cream
 
 
In a dutch oven, melt 1/2 cup Butter.  Melt on low, low, low. 
Add 3 Tablespoons of Flour, mixing thoroughly. 
You may have to take pot off of stove while adding 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese, then stir.
3 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder, 1 teaspoon Salt,
and 3 heaping Tablespoons of Sour Cream OR Cream Cheese.
Now, put the pot back on the stove on low, low heat,
and gradually add the 2 cups of Half n Half, stirring constantly and heat thorough.
If sauce becomes too thick, add more Half n Half to your desired consistency.
 
 
Alfredo Sauce is ready to serve over your favorite pasta and with Garlic Toast.
 
 
Yield:  Enough Alfredo Sauce for approximately 3 - 4 cups Penne (measurement of Penne's taken before cooking) or 12 oz. Fettuccine..
Also, Broccoli may be served  with the Alfredo Sauce AND/OR cut up Tomatoes AND/OR Boneless Chicken Breast AND/OR Garlic Bread/Buns/Toast, the choice is yours!
